Malachy Schrobilgen didn’t have anyone to push him in the 3200 meters at the May 17 Class 3A Oak Park-River Forest Sectional. No worries, though, because the OPRF senior didn’t need any outside motivation. “I just woke up this morning, (thinking), ‘You know what, I’ve been running well lately. Got to keep the ball rolling,’” Schrobilgen said. He did just that, winning the event by almost 54 seconds in a time of 8 minutes, 57.60 seconds. Burns Stadium in Claremont, Calif. Geraghty will be making his fourth national-championship appearance in the pole vault and is seeking his fourth straight Division III All-America certificate in the event.
