Shop at Whole Foods Nov. 1 and donate to Irving project

Updated: December 2, 2012 6:13AM

On Thursday, Nov. 1, Whole Foods, Harlem Avenue and Lake Street, in River Forest, is donating 5 percent of all sales to the Irving Schoolyard Project.

If time is an issue, consider using the Whole Foods personal shopper (fee waived this day). All you do is place an order at least 48 hours in advance by emailing mw.rvf.marketing@wholefoods.com or calling (708) 366-1045 and ask for Concierge Lauren. Then pick up your fulfilled order that day at a time specified by you.

To help the project out, teachers and staff from all District 97 schools volunteered to have their pictures placed beside their favorite food. You can find them. Complete the scavenger hunt and be entered in a raffle to win a gift card to Whole Foods.

The Irving Schoolyard Project (“Putting the yard back in schoolyard”) is sponsored by the Irving PTO. The PTO has been working to transform 50 years of 80,000 square feet of asphalt into a new space that will be for everyone in Oak Park to enjoy. Visit irvingschoolyard.com to see it.
