Oak Park police blotter for March 21, 2013

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Oak Park Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

THEFT

Darryl S. Fleming, 37, of the 4900 block of Ferdinand, Chicago, was arrested at the Dominick’s, 259 Lake St., at 3:04 p.m. March 15, and charged with retail theft. He was ordered held in lieu of $2,000 bond and has a March 19 court date.

BATTERY

Darlene M. Mignacco, 58, of the 600 block of North Kenilworth Avenue was arrested at 9:32 p.m. March 16, and charged with battery, resisting a police officer and obstructing a police officer during an investigation into an under-aged drinking party at her home.

At the same time, Mary R. Puls, 18, also of the 600 block of North Kenilworth Avenue was cited for hosting an under-aged drinking party at her home.

ALCOHOL

Deandra R. Nesbitt, 23, of the 9900 block of South Sangamon, Chicago, was stopped for alleged reckless driving on the 900 block of Madison Street at 2:55 a.m. March 16. Police allege she was under the influence of alcohol and had no driver’s license. She was charged with DUI, reckless driving, improper lane usage, no valid license and no proof of insurance.

John M. Dengel, 22, of the 200 block of North Elmwood Avenue was allegedly found by police sitting in his car parked in the middle of the 700 block of South Elmwood Avenue at 3:15 a.m. March 16. He was charged with DUI after police determined he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

Murphy D. Doss, 39, of the 2700 block of West Flournoy Street, Chicago, was stopped at 9:32 p.m. March 16 on the 900 block of Madison Street. He was charged with DUI when police alleged he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

DRUGS

An Oak Park boy was arrested at Oak Park-River Forest High School, 201 N. Scoville Ave., at 3 p.m. March 15, and charged with possession of marijuana. He was processed and turned over to a parent.

An Oak Park girl was arrested at Oak Park-River Forest High School, 201 N. Scoville Ave., at 1:48 p.m. March 15, and charged with possession of marijuana. He was processed and turned over to a parent.

A 16-year old Oak Park boy was arrested on the 500 block of North Scoville Avenue at 8:54 p.m. March 15, and charged with possession of marijuana. He was processed and turned over to a parent.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

Gyasia Kress, 32, of the 900 block of South Cuyler Avenue, was arrested on that block at 12:17 p.m. March 17 and charged with aggravated assault and criminal damage to property. She is currently being held in lieu of an undisclosed bond amount.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

Trae J. Washington, 21, of the 400 block of North Taft Avenue, Hillside, was arrested on the 6500 block of West North Avenue at 6:24 a.m. March 17, and charged with criminal damage to property after he was identified as the person who broke the front window of a business on that block.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

Chastity S. Wright, 36, of the 700 block of West State, Albany, Ind., was arrested at 4 a.m. March 15, and charged with criminal trespass and criminal damage to property after she was removed from the property and returned, despite police ordering her to stay away. When she returned, she allegedly broke a window pane in the rear door of the building in an attempt to gain entry.

FELONY TRAFFIC

Justin A. Harris, 31, of the 3700 block of Van Buren, Bellwood, was stopped for alleged speeding on the 5900 block of W. Erie, Chicago at 2 a.m. March 16. He was charged with felony driving on a revoked license after a name check reportedly disclosed his license was revoked for DUI and that he’d also been convicted of driving on a revoked license.
