The Chicago region could see 3 to 5 inches of snow beginning Thursday night and stretching into Friday, according to a winter weather advisory from the National Weather Service.
A Thursday night storm could drop an inch of snow per hour, the weather service warned, and the snow and possible sleet could result in slippery roads.
The winter advisory lasts from 9 p.m. Thursday until 6 p.m. Friday.
