Oak Park police blotter for Dec. 13, 2012

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Oak Park Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

ROBBERY

Daqwan J. Wandick, 18, of the 1000 block of N. Menard, Chicago, was identified by police as one of two persons who punched and knocked down an Oak Park boy on the 1100 block of South Cuyler Avenue on Dec. 5, then allegedly stole his cell phone and iPod. Police said an Oak Park street crimes officer spotted Wandick on the 5900 block of West Iowa Street in Chicago at 5:40 p.m. Dec. 7 and arrested him. He was charged with robbery and ordered held in lieu of $50,000 bond.

BURGLARY

Terrior L. Pore, 17, of the 400 block of Leamington, Chicago, was arrested at 10:47 p.m. Dec. 5 on the 200 block of South Maple Avenue and charged with residential burglary. Police say Pore was in possession of a bike stolen from a home on the block. According to police, criminal defacement to property charges were added after Pore allegedly etched a phrase into the wall of a holding cell overnight.

A 14-year old Chicago boy was arrested on the 1100 block of South Highland Avenue at 7:55 p.m. Dec. 3 after a foot chase through several rear yards. Police say the boy was one of two who stole a navigation unit from an unlocked car on the 1100 block of South Austin Boulevard.

THEFT

George A. Fox, 35, of the 300 block of Geneva, Bellwood, was arrested at 12:40 p.m. Dec. 6 on the 1600 block of Normandy in Chicago and charged with theft. Police say he allegedly stole a concrete saw from a construction site on the 1200 block of Woodbine Avenue.

Sean D. Quinn, 24, of the 700 block of Tanager Lane, West Chicago, was arrested at 1:52 p.m. Dec. 3 on the 800 block of North Boulevard and charged with theft. Police, who report that they stopped Quinn as a suspicious person, say he was shown on a business security video stealing $25 cash from a purse in an office.

Otis Smith, 50, of the 4500 block of Washington Boulevard, Chicago, was arrested at 11:33 p.m. Dec. 9 on the 300 block of Madison Street and charged with retail theft from the CVS Pharmacy, 345 Madison St.

Marshall L. Miller, 17, of the 1400 block of North Mayfield, Chicago; and Cyril C. Walker, 19, of the 100 block of North Menard, Chicago, were both charged at 11:32 a.m. Dec. 4 with possession of a stolen motor vehicle. According to police, officers were alerted by a Chicago man that he’d just spotted his stolen car at a gas station on the 200 block of Madison. Walker also was charged with criminal trespass to a motor vehicle.

BATTERY

Lavell C. Robinson, 19, of the 1000 block of South Lombard Avenue was arrested at 3:32 p.m. Dec. 5 on the 700 block of Lake Street and charged with aggravated battery after he allegedly punched an Oak Park boy in the face, knocking out two teeth.

Marco P. Betancourt, 38, of the 1600 block of South Clarence, Berwyn, was arrested at 12:58 a.m. Dec. 5 by Forest Park police at the Forest Park Blue Line Station. He was turned over to Oak Park police, who charged him with battery. According to police, Betancourt allegedly performed a sexual act on a woman’s jacket while on a Blue Line train at 11:50 p.m. Dec. 4, as it passed through Oak Park.

DRUGS

Paul James Brown, 55, of the 1100 block of North Springfield, Chicago, was arrested at 10:59 a.m. Dec. 6 on the 1100 block of North Austin Boulevard by officers responding to a call of a man allegedly selling drugs. Police say a search of Brown turned up a large baggie containing 45 smaller baggies containing a total of 30.2 grams of marijuana.

Christopher M. Lima, 23, of the 3400 block of Sunnyside, Brookfield, was arrested at 11:35 a.m. Dec. 4 and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Police say an officer reportedly saw Lima make a hand-to-hand drug transaction near the intersection of Austin and Adams Street. Police say Lima was in possession of 14 plastic baggies containing a total of 4.6 grams of heroin.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

Jonathan G. Nicholas, 28, of the 1500 block of North Kolin, Chicago, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct after police allegedly found him in a closet of an apartment building on the 200 block of North Grove Avenue.
