Oak Park police blotter for Oct. 15

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Oak Park Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

BATTERY

LaTonya M. Smith, 28, of the 3200 block of South Kenilworth Avenue in Berwyn was arrested at 2:55 p.m. Oct. 14 on the first block of Washington Boulevard and charged with domestic battery. She was processed and held for bond hearings.

Gerrod Davis, 18, of the 1100 block of Pleasant Street in Oak Park was arrested at 4:35 p.m. Oct. 11 on the 800 block of North Boulevard and charged with battery. He was released on bond.

A River Forest juvenile was arrested at 4:35 p.m. Oct. 11 on the 700 block of Lake Street and charged with battery.

Adam R. Schmidt, 28, of the 1800 block of Highland Avenue in Berwyn, was arrested at 7:50 p.m. Oct. 8 on the 6900 block of West Roosevelt Road and charged with domestic battery. He was held for bond hearings.

BURGLARY

Calvin R. Shumate, 52, of the 600 block of North Harlem Avenue in Oak Park was arrested at 5:06 p.m. Oct. 14 on the 200 block of Forest Avenue and charged with burglary to a motor vehicle. Police allege he was found in possession of prescription medication, which was allegedly removed from the vehicle. He was held for bond hearings.

THEFT

Kenneth W. Williamson, 48, of the 6800 block of South Talman Avenue in Chicago was arrested at 4:41 p.m. Oct. 12 on the 200 block of Lake Street and charged with felony retail theft and battery. He allegedly took two bottles of gin and hit a security officer in the mouth. He was held for bond hearing.

Tyrone Horton, 47, of the 5800 block of West Erie Street in Chicago was arrested at 8:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at Dominick’s on the 200 block of Lake Street and charged with retail theft. He was processed and held for bond hearings.

Gregory P. Sledge, 27, of the 1400 block of South Austin Boulevard in Cicero was arrested at 10:55 p.m. Oct. 9 on the 2600 block of South California in Chicago and charged with theft of use of property in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred July 28 on the 600 block of Madison Avenue. He was held for bond hearings.

Two Chicago juveniles were arrested at 8:34 p.m. Oct. 8 at Old Navy on the 400 block of North Harlem Avenue and charged with retail theft. They were processed and turned over to their parents.

DUI

Sara Hall, 36, of the 200 block of Harrison Street in Oak Park was arrested at 11:08 p.m. Oct. 11 after an traffic accident on the 200 block of Harrison Street and charged with driving under the influence. She was held for bond hearings.

TRESPASS

Janell L. Fenderson, 20, of the 1600 block of South 18th Avenue in Maywood was arrested at 10:16 p.m. Oct. 14 on the 800 block of South Oak Park Avenue and charged with criminal trespass and reckless conduct.

Steven T. Williams, 27, of the 4600 block of North Sheridan Road in Chicago was arrested at 3:15 a.m. Oct. 8 on the 600 block of South Maple Avenue and charged with criminal trespass to a residence. He was held in lieu of bond.

Two Chicago juveniles were arrested at 11:13 p.m. Oct. 10 on the 300 block of South Elmwood Avenue and charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle. They were processed and turned over to their parents.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

Denita M. Rogers, 49, of the 700 block of South Central in Chicago was arrested at 3:35 p.m. Oct. 8 on the 900 block of North Austin Boulevard and charged with criminal damage to property. She was processed and held in lieu of bond.

TRAFFIC

Miguel Malla-Quituisaca, 34, of the 3000 block of North Lotus Avenue in Chicago was cited at 2 a.m. Oct. 10 on the 6200 block of West North Avenue with no valid drivers license. Police said he was also wanted on an outstanding immigration and probation violation.
