Oak Park police blotter for Sept. 10

The following incidents were listed in the reports of the Oak Park Police Department. Readers are reminded that individuals who are charged are innocent until proven guilty. Court appearances are in Maybrook Court in Maywood unless otherwise noted.

DOMESTIC BATTERY

Anthony Shelby, 18, of the 5500 block of West Corcoran Place, Chicago, was arrested at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 5 on the first block of Chicago Avenue and charged with domestic battery. A name check revealed a Cook County warrant for Shelby on charges of manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance. He was being held in lieu of $10,000 bond. His next court date is Sept. 12.

Willie L. Holman, 39, of the 700 block of West Roosevelt Road in Berwyn, was arrested at 11:07 p.m. Sept. 4 at his residence and charged with domestic battery in connection with signed complaints in the alleged battery of an Oak Park resident.

Patrick Methe, 19, of the 800 block of South Grove, was arrested at 12:11 a.m. Sept. 4 and charged with domestic battery, interference with reporting of a domestic battery and criminal damage to property.

Robbery

An Oak Park resident was walking eastbound on Ontario Street between 10:21 and 10:30 p.m. Sept. 6 when she was approached from the rear by an offender who placed an unknown object against her back and demanded her purse. Loss was estimated at $413.

An Oak Park resident was forced to the ground and her shoulder purse was grabbed between 11:35 and 11:40 p.m. Sept. 5 on the first block of Washington. The victim screamed and a witness yelled at the offender, who fled the area. No loss was reported. The suspect was described as a black male, between 25 and 30 years of age, 5’10”, 175 pounds, with a short hair cut, clean shaven, wearing a white T-shirt and dark jeans, and carrying a black shirt.

Burglary

A black 40-inch Vizio television, an Xbox 360 game console, a Movado watch and bed sheets were taken between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sept. 5 from an apartment on the 400 block of North Austin Boulevard. Loss was estimated at $2,180.

Two suitcases, clothes, a pair of Nike gym shoes, toiletries, a bottle of wine and a brown bag were taken between 9:30 p.m. Sept. 3 and 5:22 a.m. Sept. 4 from an Oak Park resident’s 2001 Volvo in the rear of a home on the 700 block of Home Avenue. Loss was estimated at $780.

A Kenwood AM/FM stereo with CD player and iPod jack, coins, CDs and an I-Pass was removed between 10:30 p.m. Sept. 2 and 12:10 p.m. Sept. 3 from a 2002 Mercedes Benz and a 1972 Mercedes Benz in a garage on the 500 block of North Ridgeland Avenue. The dashboards of both vehicles were damaged. Damage and loss was estimated at $560.

Miscellaneous pieces of jewelry were taken between 9:45 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. Sept. 5 from a home on the 1100 block of Woodbine Avenue. Loss was unknown.

THEFT

An Oak Park juvenile was arrested at 4:38 p.m. Sept. 5 in connection with a retail theft at Dominick’s Food Store, located on the 200 block of Lake Street. He was released to his mother.

A green 1996 Dodge Caravan was stolen between 10 p.m. Sept. 3 and 10 a.m. Sept. 4 from the rear of a home on the 500 block of South Harvey Avenue. Loss was estimated at $5,000.

A 2005 Chrysler Town and Country parked on the 300 block of South Scoville was moved back 5 feet between 10 p.m. Sept. 3 and 6 a.m. Sept. 4. Entering through an unlocked door, the offender pulled the ignition, possibly with a screwdriver. Damage was undetermined.

Daquan M. Boyd, 18, of the 5200 block of South Hermitage Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 11:20 a.m. Sept. 3 on the 3000 block of South California Avenue in Chicago and charged with theft in connection with an Aug. 22 incident on the 200 block of North Scoville Avenue. Boyd was also arrested at 6:15 p.m. Aug. 27 on the 100 block of Lake Street and charged with robbery after he allegedly took a woman’s iPhone from her hand. Boyd was being held in Cook County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Two Chicago juveniles were arrested at 7:25 p.m. Sept. 3 on the 800 block of South Lombard Avenue and charged with theft for allegedly possessing a bicycle reported stolen on Aug. 17 from a garage on the 1000 block of South Grove Avenue.

DRUGS

Robert F. Ragalie, 24, of the 500 block of Clarence, was arrested at 9:50 a.m. Sept. 5 on the 1000 block of North Boulevard and charged with possession of a controlled substance. A name check revealed a warrant out of Travis County, Texas for Ragalie on a charge of possession of cocaine. He was being held in Cook County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bond. His next court date is Sept. 11 at 3150 W. Flournoy St., Chicago.

TRESPASS

Dominick Wellington, 25, of the 900 block of North Boulevard, and Harold Hamilton Jr., 21, of the 100 block of West Lake Street, both of Oak Park, were arrested at 12:05 p.m. Sept. 3 on the 900 block of North and charged with criminal trespass to property. Wellington was released after posting bond. Hamilton was being held in lieu of bond.

Kenneth Allen, 24, of the 1800 block of North Merrimac Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 9:07 p.m. Sept. 3 on the 100 block of North Austin Boulevard and charged with criminal trespass to a motor vehicle and driving while license suspended. He was being held in Cook County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond. His next court date is Sept. 10.
