Are you or someone you know ready to begin receiving Social Security?
If you are going to collect Social Security benefits in the next 10 years, you should attend this educational session to be held from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Cheney Mansion, 220 N. Euclid Ave., Oak Park.
You will gain a variety of insights, including the benefits of taking Social Security; when to take benefits — sooner or later; working while getting benefits — what is the impact on benefits; taxation of Social Security benefits; and spousal benefits/widow benefits.
The presentation will be made by Jim Flanagan, of Bentron Financial Group, Inc., and chairman of the Celebrating Seniors Coalition. Flanagan will conduct a lively and informative discussion about the Social Security system. Learn what you need to know to maximize the benefits you have earned.
Sponsored by the Oak Park-River Forest Chamber of Commerce Business Education Forum.
Entrance fee is $10 for chamber members; $20 for nonchamber members, and includes dinner from Potbelly.
