How to get Oak Park information after a snow
Updated: March 5, 2013 4:04PM
OAK PARK — With the snow emergency parking rules being implemented twice in the last several days, residents who park on the streets are urged to plan ahead by monitoring weather forecasts. A snowfall of two or more inches may trigger the emergency snow parking plan, which bans parking on major streets designated as snow route and restricts when and where vehicles can be parked on other streets.
Details are posted at oak-park.us/snow, including information on sidewalk shoveling requirements.
To find out if the snow emergency parking plan is in effect, call (708) 358-SNOW/ (708) 358-7669 for a recorded message that is updated at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day if necessary.
Information also is broadcast on VOP-TV, the Village’s cable television station available to Comcast subscribers on channel 6 and AT&T subscribers on channel 99, and distributed via the Village twitter feed and facebook page. In addition, residents can sign up for notifications via text or email at oak-park.us/notifyme.
