Name: Zander

Species: Feline

Breed: Domestic Shorthair/mix

Age: 12 years, 1 month, 16 days

Gender: Male

Color: Black and White

Zander found his way to ACL after wandering into a resident’s basement. This big guy is very affectionate and friendly. He does not enjoy being picked up and carried, but he is willing to jump into any lap for a good petting session. Even though Zander is a domestic shorthair, he will have to be brushed often to avoid his fur from matting and to keep him looking handsome. Zander does not do well with other felines, so he will have to be your “One and Only” kitty. He is also recommended for families with children ages 10 and older. Zander has a reduced adoption fee during our “Senior Feline” promotion. His adoption fee is $40 until Nov. 30. Zander also goes home with a “goodie bag” and a free raffle ticket to win a custom-made cat scratcher.

To adopt Zander or to learn more, call the Animal Care League at (708) 848-8155, visit the shelter at 1011 Garfield St., Oak Park, or email animalcare@ameritech.net. Available online at animalcareleague.org.

People who love their pets get ID tags for them. It’s the right thing to do and it’s a village law. If you lose a pet or find someone else’s, call Pioneer Press at (847) 998-3400 to put a free, lost or found, ad in the classifieds.~
