Say farewell for a while to Ridgeland Common, 415 W. Lake St., Oak Park, at an Intermission Celebration, 4 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16. A variety of activities are planned for this last open skate before the building is closed for a year-long renovation project.

“We’re going to start with an alumni game at 4 o’clock with the Oak Park-River Forest Alumni Hockey Players against the Fenwick Alumni Hockey Players. Then we’ll have a public skate,” said Michael Lushniak, program and operations assistant manager for the Park District of Oak Park. “Throughout the day, we’ll have prize drawings as well as different visitors coming by.”

Special guests will include Frank Pellico, the organist for the Chicago Blackhawks, as well as the team mascot, Tommy Hawk, and some former team members. There will also be a skating demonstration, games and the chance to pose for pictures on the Zamboni.

The cost is $6.
