Beloved children’s entertainer Ella Jenkins has performed at Wonder Works every February since 2007 — and every concert has been sold out. Mary Bodlak, executive director of the children’s museum at 6445 W. North Ave., Oak Park, advises parents to purchase tickets as soon as possible for Jenkins’ annual concert, 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24.
“Ella has always lived up to her title as ‘First Lady of Children’s Music,’” Bodlak said. “Wonder Works is proud to call the legendary Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner a friend. We treasure each year we can share her with our youngest generation.”
Bodlak further praised Jenkins’ call-and-response music style which reinforces several things that Wonder Works promotes, “children and adults actively playing together, developing creativity in children and improving communication between cultures.”
Jenkins’ latest CD, released at the end of January, is “Get Moving with Ella Jenkins.”
Tickets are $12 for members, $16 for nonmembers.
