Buick introduced a 2013 Encore luxury crossover during the North American International Auto Show press days in Detroit.
The Encore is a smaller compact luxury companion to the mid-size Enclave crossover. The five-passenger Encore (based on Chevrolet Sonic platform) will feature an Ecotec 1.4L turbo four-cylinder and six-speed automatic. Standard technologies willing include Buick’s voice-activated IntelliLink, which uses Bluetooth or a USB to connect the driver’s smartphone to a high-resolution, color seven-inch LCD display radio.
The Encore will also have Buick’s signature Quiet Tuning, a three-point strategy of reducing sounds at their source, blocking noise from entering the cabin and absorbing any remaining sounds. It will also feature Buick’s first use of active noise cancellation technology.
The 2013 Encore crossover completes the Buick lineup that has seen the addition of three sedans in three years.
