Grandparent’s Story Time, Sept. 10

Grandparents and grandparent-like figures are invited to bring the children in their lives to Grandparent Story Time. Library staff share books and songs that celebrate grandparents and the role they play in our lives. Refreshments are served.

Afterschool Archery, Sept. 10

Come and learn the ancient and modernized art of archery. Necessary equipment is provided. For ages 10 and up with parents welcome.

Author Lecture: David Skeel, Sept. 12

David Skeel discusses his new book “True Paradox: How Christianity Makes Sense of Our Complex World.” Skeel is the S. Samuel Arsht Professor of Corporate Law at the University of Pennsylvania. He is the author of “The New Financial Deal,” “Icarus in the Boardroom” and “Debt’s Dominion: A History of Bankruptcy Law in America.”

Janet Nolan Book Signing Event Benefiting West Suburban PADS, Sept. 14

Meet local author Janet Nolan, who signs copies of her latest book “PB&J Hooray!” The Magic Tree Bookstore donates 20 percent of the book’s sales to West Suburban PADS. Participants can brings jars of peanut butter and/or jelly to donate. After the signing, children can color lunch bags to give the food to emergency shelter’s clients.
