Family Friendly: Kratt Brothers bring Amazon show to Brookfield Zoo

Little kids go crazy for Chris and Martin Kratt, stars of the “Wild Kratts” TV show. The brothers are bringing their “Amazon Adventure Show” to the West Mall of Brookfield Zoo, First Ave. between Ogden Ave. and 31st St., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 and Sunday, Aug. 24.

“It’s a 20-minute skit where they’re talking about animals in the wild,” said Ken Grzeslo, onsite marketing assistant manager. “They’re running around and getting the crowd involved in making the animal sounds.” The show is geared towards ages 7 and younger.

The Kratt Brothers first appeared at the zoo in 2001 for the opening of the Hamill Family Play Zoo and have performed there every year since 2011. “You look at the little kids and it’s like they’re looking at a rock star,” Grzeslo said.

The shows are free with zoo admission. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs. The brothers will sign autographs from 2-4 p.m. each day.
