RSVP Volunteer Program opportunities for community residents

The following release concerns volunteer opportunities through the RSVP Program of Western Suburban Cook and Southern DuPage Counties.

The RSVP Volunteer Program of West Suburban Cook and Southern DuPage Counties is looking for volunteers to help a few of their community partners.

RSVP is a national volunteer program, sponsored by Triton College, for individuals who are 55 years of age and older. It works with non-profit organizations and reports back to the state and federal governments on the impact that they are having in the community.

RSVP, in partnership with West Suburban PADS, is looking for individuals who are interested in helping clients with basic needs and provide administrative support to the daytime support center in Maywood. Individuals who are willing to serve as case aides/receptionists would serve one day a week, Monday through Fridays, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The case aides/receptionists would greet visitors, perform data entry for clients and handle general administrative front-desk duties.

Prevail, another RSVP partner located in Oak Park, is looking for assistance in their offices at 848 Lake Street. Interested volunteers would help as client counselors, employment consultants, computer specialists, budget counselors, communications director or web site designers. The times each of these positions are needed varies.

For more information on these volunteer opportunities or others, call Triton College’s RSVP office at (708) 456-0300, Ext. 3835 or 3603.
