Blue Line train derails at Forest Park station, shuttles available between Harlem station

CTA Blue Line riders are facing delays in the west suburbs after a train suffered a “minor derailment” at the Forest Park station, officials said.

A westbound train arriving at the station experienced a “minor derailment” about 11:10 a.m., according to CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski.

It appears the train’s wheels slipped off the tracks, but no injuries were reported in the incident, Hosinski said.

Passengers were asked to walk through the train to the front car and exit onto the platform, according to Hosinski.

A shuttle train is operating on a single track between the Forest Park and Harlem stations, Hosinski said. Normal service is operating between O’Hare and Harlem.
