There’ll be one less option for coffee near the intersection of Harlem and North avenues for the near future.

The Galewood Starbucks, located at 7112A W. North Ave. in Chicago, will be closing for remodeling beginning in mid-August, according to a company spokesperson. The renovation will focus on updates to the interior furnishings and the drive-thru, the spokesperson said.

Some of the renovations will include a new countertop where customers can sit, as well as a new cooler for beverages and food.

There will also be two-way video ordering in the drive-through and increased space between the order post and pick-up window to help improve the speed with which customers receive their orders.

Starbucks would not disclose how long the store would be closed during the store renovation process.

There is the possibility the store may be able to serve beverages from a trailer set up in the parking lot while the store is closed for renovations, an employee of the North Avenue store said.
