West Suburban Medical Center has named health care services veteran Joseph Ottolino as its new chief operating officer.

Ottolino, 42, came to the position off of his post as vice president of Ancillary Services at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn where he also served in the radiology department.

“With nearly 20 years of experience in health care, Joseph Ottolino brings a solid background of clinical experience, as well as a record of administrative leadership in areas of growth and strategy,” the Oak Park hospital said in a release announcing the hiring.

Ottolino’s tenure at the hospital began June 23.

West Suburban is a 233-bed teaching hospital at 3 Erie Court in Oak Park. The hospital, which recently celebrated its 100th anniversary, is accredited by the Joint Commission.

Both West Suburban and MacNeal were bought by Tenet Healthcare Corp. of Dallas from Vanguard Health Systems Inc. in 2012. Tenet operates 77 acute care hospitals and 187 outpatient centers across the country.
