Area youth will have no excuse for being bored the summer because Triton College has education and athletic camps available that cater to them.
A soccer clinic will take place at the college, located at 2000 Fifth Ave. in River Grove. The class will meet from 8 to 11 a.m., July 21 to July 24. Youth ages 7-10 are eligible and the fee is $60.
Participants will compete and learn the fundamentals of basketball along with the rules of the game.
For children and teens who want to stimulate their creative side, a Creative Paper Arts class will be available at the college from 8 to 11 a.m., July 28 to July 31 for youth 12-15. Participants will utilize their imagination and their creativity by using recycled paper to create a myriad of projects, including origami art and paper mache. The fee to participate is $80.
A Junior Artist class is scheduled for children 7 to 11 years old from 11:30 a.m. to 2:20 p.m., July 21 to July 24. Youth 12 to 15 years old can participate from 2:30 to 5:20 p.m., July 28 to July 31. The fee for both classes is $95.
An Actors Clinic for youth 12 to 15 years old is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 2:20 p.m., July 28 to July 31. Participants will learn the basics of pantomime, improvisation, drama and comedy. The fee for the class is $60.
Those who like math and science or want to improve in these areas can enroll in WaterBotics, which puts a fun spin on these subjects. The class is for youth between 10 and 15 years old and will take place from 12:30 to 4:20 p.m., July 14 to July 17. Youth will learn about math and science through building and programming a LEGO robot that swims underwater. The fee for the class is $135.
Children 7-10 will be able to use their creativity with LEGOs through the college’s LEGO Robotics class, which will be held from 2:30 to 5:20 p.m., July 21 to July 24. Those enrolled will be able to design and build a robot that moves around using LEGOs. The fee for the class is $120.
