OAK PARK — Max Williams has been named Downtown Oak Park’s new executive director.

A resident of Old Town, Williams served in the same position in Wheaton with the Downtown Wheaton Association, according to a press release from Downtown Oak Park on Monday.

“We are excited Max has accepted our offer to be a part of DTOP,” Downtown Oak Park Board President Bob Johnson said in the release. “He brings a youthful, energetic passion to the job and is not going to have any problems rolling up his sleeves and getting to work.”

Williams increased association membership, established a long-term funding agreement and developed rebranding and marketing for Downtown Wheaton.

“Downtown Oak Park is a wonderful and well-established community with a distinct style and character all its own,” Williams said. “I cannot wait to meet with DTOP merchants and introduce myself to the greater Oak Park community.”

Williams replaces Pat Zubak, who retired in August.
